Day 1: Reception

We will be awaiting your arrival and we will go straight to the point to disconnect and dive into the trip.

Day 2: Guara 5 Stars

Everything in this route is top-quality: landscapes, trails, villages, forests… The best of Guara’s northern mountainside is summed up in this varied and comprehensive itinerary.

After a short road climb up to San Úrbez Sanctuary we must take the GR1 heading to Bentué and Used, an excellent enduro trail. From Used to Azpe another good singletrack climbs up with short sections of pushing the bike. There’s still another steep slope to the panoramic Coronazo pass, where an incredible 6 km descent by the forest begins. You’ll wish it would never end! From the lovely Bara village a narrow road climbs up steadily to Used and there another dirt road takes to an old building. That’s the beginning of the last rocky singletrack heading to Nocito, where you’ll surely arrive grinning broadly.

GR1 VARIANT: A variant of the main route descends directly from Used to Bara by the GR1, avoiding the bulk of the singletrack climb and passing by the wonderful Cardito pool.

Day 3: 17 km of non-stop top-quality singletracks.

17 km of non-stop top-quality singletracks.

Few routes can boast of this amount and variety of natural paths in a privileged environment made of uninhabited villages, rivers with crystal water pools and lovely pine forests. To start with, the assortment of singletracks begins with the exceptional GR1 among Santuario de San Úrbez, Bentué de Nocito and Used, all of them places with very interesting heritage. From Used to the uninhabited village of Azpe you’ll find the hardest climb of the route including some short hike-a-bike. It continues going up and down towards Abellada and Pardina Latorre, from where a wonderful descent (one of the best in the region) goes down to San Úrbez. The last downhill singletrack to Nocito, extremely rocky, can be avoided by the paved road.

Physical difficulty: Medium-High depending on the route Technical difficulty: Medium-High depending on the route
  • Rides must be aware of their own physical and technical conditions being responsable of their own choices when selecting the different routes.

  • Remember to wear a helmet even when riding uphill.
  • Downhill riding requires the use of knee and elbow pads to prevent injuries.
  • When riding on a paved road use the right side of the road. Respect the traffic rules.
  • Try to avoid riding on a paved road if it’s dark. When doing it remember to use high- visibility clothing as well as front and back light.
  • Be cautious when riding on a gravel road. To fall when riding over 30km/h may cause serious injuries.
  • Get some information before starting and choose the ride depending on your technical skills and fitness level.
  • Dink and eat properly during the ride. The water flowing in high mountain areas have no minerals enough to recover the organism losses. Sports drinks and supplements are recommended for long rides.
  • Remember to check your bike before starting. Mechanical difficulties may cause an accidente.
  • If you often practice MTB we highly recommend you to get an insurance to cover the cost of treatment and rescue in case of accident. This advice is specially important for enduro and downhill riders. Local sports federations provide this service.
